Pratap Padode

Must read book for those find of history。 One of the best accounts of the origin of human species I have read。

More fun than the original book, but still disappointingI have to admit this version is nicer and more fun than the original book, but it's still disappointing and filled with a lot of assumptions。 I'd not want any kid to read this because while I admit that a lot of what is covered in the book is somewhat controversial, I'd prefer giving people the facts and the necessary tools to draw conclusions (instead of forcing these conclusions onto people。 More fun than the original book, but still disappointingI have to admit this version is nicer and more fun than the original book, but it's still disappointing and filled with a lot of assumptions。 I'd not want any kid to read this because while I admit that a lot of what is covered in the book is somewhat controversial, I'd prefer giving people the facts and the necessary tools to draw conclusions (instead of forcing these conclusions onto people。 。。。more

I loved this。 I would have never thought about this topic as a graphic novel, but it but it so much easier to read and learn new info。 Prehistory isn’t my favorite subject, so I only read about it casually and this setting was perfect! You should read it if you’re thinking about it!

I knew this would be great and I was right。 I've read the Hararis before: Sapiens, Homo Deus and 21 Lessons and loved them, wanting to revisit them too, but a bit hesitantly because of their length。 When I saw this it all made sense; of course I wanted to go through this stuff in a more packed, illustrated format! I indulged this in a day or two, was completely drawn in。 The illustrations gave the information wonderful justice and elevated everything。Of course this doesn't really give you any ne I knew this would be great and I was right。 I've read the Hararis before: Sapiens, Homo Deus and 21 Lessons and loved them, wanting to revisit them too, but a bit hesitantly because of their length。 When I saw this it all made sense; of course I wanted to go through this stuff in a more packed, illustrated format!

This was awesome! I’ll probably read the original copy and then the Volume II of this illustrative version。

Excellent way of explaining complex subject。

It's really hard to see an adaptation that's better (or, at least, different enough) than the original work。 This comic book nails it perfectly。It's not a book transcript, it's not even an adaptation per se。 It's something new, like if two different people wrote two different articles based on the same sources (one of them a historian and the other a storyteller)。 It's hard to say this version of Sapiens brings more to the table。 The book version is more thorough, while the graphic novel is funn It's really hard to see an adaptation that's better (or, at least, different enough) than the original work。 This comic book nails it perfectly。It's not a book transcript, it's not even an adaptation per se。 It's something new, like if two different people wrote two different articles based on the same sources (one of them a historian and the other a storyteller)。 It's hard to say this version of Sapiens brings more to the table。 The book version is more thorough, while the graphic novel is funnier and easier to grasp。 Nonetheless, this version has illustrations, which make every description better, but the book goes deeper into some essential subjects。Anyways, I highly recommend BOTH the book and the comics。 I'm looking forward to the other parts (as this is only part 1)。 。。。more

The history in this graphic book is illustrated in an entertaining and scientific manner。 I enjoyed the way the author(s) presented evidence for and against theories of the development of homo sapiens & their effect on the environment。 The illustrations were good and it was helpful to separate the chapters with different color schemes。 There are pros & cons to having the same illustration style throughout a long book like this。 For me, I would have preferred a little more variety。

Creo que no funciona el formato, es más útil leerse el libro original。

This book is like a dish you know and like but it is served for you differently。 It is fresh; it is written in a friendly way。 Your evening (maybe two evenings) will be v。 enjoyable。Two more thoughts:1) this book has a gay vibe - it is kind of funny。2) I would recommend being brave。 There is an open criticism of stories that people make - one of the examples is Christianity, the other is Peugeot - why not mention some other notable examples such as Judaism or Islam?

Very informative with a comics format that keeps things just irreverent enough to help big concepts come across clearly。 A great way to get a big picture view of human history, and insight into just what it is to be a sapiens。

Same excellent ideas and content as the original work but retooled for a little bit younger audience but luckily for them, I love comics and have no issues reading any work no matter the marketed range。 This book covers half of the book and obviously, the other half is in volume 2。 I liked the art style and you remember there were pictures in the original book as well but this one has illustrations for every panel so that works as well。 obviously, this is targeted at younger readers perhaps but Same excellent ideas and content as the original work but retooled for a little bit younger audience but luckily for them, I love comics and have no issues reading any work no matter the marketed range。 This book covers half of the book and obviously, the other half is in volume 2。 I liked the art style and you remember there were pictures in the original book as well but this one has illustrations for every panel so that works as well。 obviously, this is targeted at younger readers perhaps but it is again important work to be read as much as possible。 The book was also conversational and easy to read but here there are multiple characters to share the ideas shared with us。 And now onto the other works while I hope for the price of part 2 to get lower still so that I can order it, and till then let's just Keep on Reading。I have always loved comics, and I hope that I will always love them。 Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics or Diamond Comics or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on the international and classic comics and Graphic novels。 I am on my quest to read as many comics as I can。 I Love comics to the bits, may the comics never leave my side。 I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading。 。。。more

I'd give this 6 stars。 or 18。 This is the most entertaining non-fiction graphic novel and just enlightening。 I'd say this is the new bible but that'd be blasphemy 。。。 It's fun to read and educational and basically a summary of present day-knowledge of how humans evolved from apes and conquered the entire planet。 I'd give this 6 stars。 or 18。 This is the most entertaining non-fiction graphic novel and just enlightening。 I'd say this is the new bible but that'd be blasphemy 。。。 It's fun to read and educational and basically a summary of present day-knowledge of how humans evolved from apes and conquered the entire planet。 。。。more

I absolutely adored Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, so I kind of expected the graphic version to be underwhelming and superficial。 But it proved me wrong - it goes into a lot of detail and discusses different theories and the characters and stories were pretty solid。 I enjoyed the art as well, it's an all-round quality product, and a great refresher course。 I'll definitely try to get my hands on the second part: Sapiens: A Graphic History, Volume 2: The Pillars of Civilization。So yeah, I I absolutely adored Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, so I kind of expected the graphic version to be underwhelming and superficial。 But it proved me wrong - it goes into a lot of detail and discusses different theories and the characters and stories were pretty solid。 I enjoyed the art as well, it's an all-round quality product, and a great refresher course。 I'll definitely try to get my hands on the second part: Sapiens: A Graphic History, Volume 2: The Pillars of Civilization。So yeah, I would highly recommend it if you already liked Sapiens or if a more playful approach beats a big fat book for you :D 。。。more

First half of the best seller in graphic form。 Takes Sapiens from their first emergence around 300,000 years ago as one of several in the species Homo to around 15,000 years ago when Sapiens moved from hunter gatherers to farmers。 Sapiens emerged as the only Homo species by 30,000。 They survived over their bigger and stronger cousins, the Neanderthals (400,000 - 30,000), because of the Sapiens' ability to cooperate with one another, even stranger Sapiens。 Neanderthals were wary of any strangers First half of the best seller in graphic form。 Takes Sapiens from their first emergence around 300,000 years ago as one of several in the species Homo to around 15,000 years ago when Sapiens moved from hunter gatherers to farmers。 Sapiens emerged as the only Homo species by 30,000。 They survived over their bigger and stronger cousins, the Neanderthals (400,000 - 30,000), because of the Sapiens' ability to cooperate with one another, even stranger Sapiens。 Neanderthals were wary of any strangers and lived in small family groups。 About 2% of Neanderthals' genes are shared by Sapiens。 。。。more

Very good work。 I leant a lot in reading this book, and it corrected a lot of false ideas I had on the origin of humanity。 I recommend it to everyone。

A cute follow up to the book。 The book is more in depth but this does hit the highlights and gives a great summary in an easy to read format。

Robert

The graphic novel aspect was an interesting way to summarize human history。 I picked up a few things unknown to me previously about human history。

So cool!

Frank O'connor

This is a book about the impact of the past on the present。 It is nicely rendered and has a lot of insight。 Probably better aimed at smart children rather than adults。

I think this book will be great for visual learners and those who are intimidated by nonfiction。 Also the first book, that I’ve read,to mention Covid-19。
